Rooting Infinix Hot 2 running on Android marshmallow ( operating system 6.0) gave me some headache because kingroot, Kingo was unable to root it. I also tried changing it Imei but couldn't with mobile uncle tools because the latest Android OS 6.0 has a different UI compared to the UI interphase of lollipop and KitKat.
This very issue lead me to conclude that I can only change the Imei only after rooting with flashing SuperUser to device. I read a few posts online which assisted me in rooting Infinix Hot 2 running on 6.0.
==> PC
==> Good USB cable
==> Download Vcom drivers
==> Download Infinix Flash Tool or So flash tool
==> Download Recovery Enabler
==> Download TWRP Recovery for Infinix hot 2
==> Download Super Su

** Unzip Recovery enabler & TWRP recovery to your PC's Desktop
** Copy the Super Su.zip to your device SD card
** Open Infinix Flash Tool.exe (Run as Admin)
** Activate the Developer Options and USB Debug Mode on your Hot 2 which can be found under Settings
** Switch off your device & remove the battery
** Click on Browser within the Infinix flash tool interphase
** Select the recovery enabler on your Desktop then select MT6580_Android_Scatter and click on Start
**Plug in your USB to your device then plug the other end of the USB to your PC and insert the battery after seeing the red link in the Infinix flash tool.
** You will see a green OK button meaning the flashing was successful
** Repeat the above steps to flash the TWRP recovery to your device
Now you have successfully flashed TWRP recovery to your device. The next procedure is to flash the super su.zip through the newly installed TWRP recovery.
*** Make sure the super su.zip is copied to your device SD card before starting this process
***Switch off your device
*** Press the Power button and the Volume up key together then release only the power button after seeing the device logo (Infinix) to boot your device into Twrp recovery mode
*** To navigate up n down the recovery use the volume up and volume down key respectively or simply use your finger to touch what you wish to select. Use the power button to select any option.
*** Select Install
*** Select swipe to Allow Modification
*** Locate the super su.zip on your SD card and select it
*** Swipe again to allow modification
*** Restart/Reboot after successful installation
After reboot, switch on your data and look through your apps on your device, you will see superuser then click on it and allow it to update on playstore.
Once the updating of superuser is done, that means your Hot 2 is successfully rooted.

==> Install & run it
==> Put in your new desired Imei and click apply
==> SuperUser will ask for permission, grant it
==> Restart your device or switch on and off airplane mode.
Congratulations you have successfully rooted and changed your device Imei.
